Upcoming Event by Trevisan International Art
CREATIVE ENERGY
Museum of the Estense Castle, Ferrara, Italy, 23 - 31 October 2010

In planning this new exhibition, as always, I like to envisage it in terms of strength and variety. Just as individual artists follow their own path of infinite stimuli and impulses to arrive at a good conclusion, I too, as an organizer and curator, must give birth to a strong and harmonic result. My objective is to channel the varying creative forces into a cohesive whole - where, in spite of the great differences in individual artistic achievement, each work of art is enhanced by its surroundings.

Through my recent curatorial experiences, particularly at ‘Art Melbourne’ in Australia and ‘Little Treasures’ in Bologna, I realised what I love most about my exhibitions - it is the sheer ‘energy’ of the creative spirit. I love bringing together such diversity and harmonising its incredible force under one roof. It is this energy that has become a very distinctive feature of my exhibitions and has contributed so greatly to their visual uniqueness.

It has been a joy to spend time in endless communication with artists and learning from their opinions, ideas and dreams. I have learnt much of the innate, even violent, driving power behind their creativity and know well that in many cases - what they may dream and feel today - we will think and know tomorrow.

Thanks to my close communication with many fine artists and colleagues on the current art scene, I have learned more deeply what constitutes a work of art and gives it added value as such a vital part of our universal language. This, as with Nature herself, is ‘Creative Energy’. This is the power that communicates across all human barriers of language and culture (Beethoven did not write music in German). It is the energy that enables our species to survive and, alongside of science, must always be knocking loudly at the door of the unknown.

So - this time I intend placing before the public an exhibition of cutting edge momentum. This show will bring together a veritable firework display of ‘Creative Energy’ from those international artists who dare to dream. I will be looking for vitality, experimentation, multicoloured yet harmonious pattern, freedom of thought, purity of expression and, above all, the creative energy of life.

Once again we will walk through the magical city of Ferrara and enter the rooms of the majestic Este Castle. Here the spectator will encounter a new mysterious and enigmatic universe - an intensity of vigour that will reverberate through that great historical building and beyond. Such a phenomenon will be caused by the culmination of energy that flows through the veins of every painter and sculptor as, through this exhibition, they express and exhibit their own Creative Energy.

International Art Exhibition "Little Treasures", Bologna
Galleria De' Marchi, Bologna, Italy, 8 - 24 May 2010

Over recent years I have curated many exhibitions of fine artwork by individual creators from all over the world. Through the great diversity of individual expression these exhibitions have grown in size and attention and have always been well received by the public and critics alike.

The 2006 show ‘Magic’ at the Castello Estense in Ferrara seemed to re-awaken an awareness of the great traditions of art inherent to Italy and especially Ferrara. The traditionalists with their superb renderings of reality echoed the spirit of Cosmé Tura, while the magic of the metaphysical abstraction, reminded us of Carra and De Chirico.

In 2007 I curated the ‘Spirit – Spirit In Art’ exhibition. This show brought with it a redoubled enthusiasm and further enlightened interchange between the artists, their public and myself.

So, the following two years 2008 and 2009, within the same castle walls, I saw my tree of art blossom and I was honoured to curate two further great International exhibitions. These shows, ‘Traces of Memory’ and ‘Imaginary Journeys’ were magnificent occasions where genuine and sincere artists from all over the world came to meet and exchange their cultural and aesthetic views.

It was as if a great discovery of emotional and spiritual treasure had been located. As we dug deeper (often far into the night over good limoncello) we knew that there was much more to be unearthed. This search culminated in our first ‘Little Treasures’ exhibition held in 2008.

Once again, from this great blossoming tree of art came the fall of delicate small petals. These are happily gathered once again and proudly presented to you as our second exhibition of ‘Little Treasures’.

I would like to thank all of the artists who have contributed such exquisite creations to this very special exhibition.

Thank you for your interest and I sincerely hope that you will enjoy the show.

Trevisan International Art at Art Melbourne

Because of the many great memories and emotional experiences, it is difficult to know where to begin in my report on Trevisan International Art exhibiting at ‘Art Melbourne’.

From April 22nd – 25th this great art fair displayed over 800 Australian and International artists at the magnificent and historical Royal Exhibition Building in Melbourne. Through the Australian artists that I have had the pleasure to work with, I have learned that Australia is a great young country that is open to all levels of art. They were right - I am extremely happy that I made the decision to join this great event. It has proved a very important step for me in that it gives me confidence and opens up all sorts of international possibilities for the future. The Melbourne public was especially welcoming in their appreciation of our efforts and we received great feedback from dealers and collectors alike regarding the quality of the paintings and sculptures in our display.

I would especially like to thank those artists who believed in me and allowed me to represent them at this great event: Marion Bakker (Holland), Michele Krauss (United States), Ton Lindhout (Holland), Fran Mc Cann (Ireland), Keith Morant (New Zealand), Franz Rittmannsberger (Austria), Carol Rowling (Australia) and Joe Sloan (Ireland). I am very proud of you all. I am also very happy that we had such good results, not only on terms of sales, but also in the great interest and compliments received by many visitors on the quality of your exhibited artworks.

I have made many new contacts and received great stimulation and encouragement from this experience; it gave me the opportunity to know Australia, a wonderfully modern country that is very alive to contemporary art. This venture has also been a strong test for Trevisan International Art, forcefully demonstrating, that, thanks to the integrity and creative richness of the artists, we are able to cross any geographic barrier.

It was an honor for me to exhibit these eight artists in Melbourne and I am confident that this has been a giant first step on a journey towards much more international exposure for the future of Trevisan International Art.

Souvenirs ...
Ferrara – Castello Estense – Sale dell’Imbarcadero
Seventy-eight artists from all over the world have created an important and diverse exhibition of international art.

Imaginary Journeys, with artists from all over the world bringing their individual contributions of inventive and creative art into the beautiful setting of Ferrara in the Po valley.

The exhibition “Imaginary Journeys”, staged in the Imbarcadero Rooms of the Castello Estense in Ferrara from 24 October to 1 November, was a great success: its launch was preceded outside by a delightful exhibition of traditional flag-wavers, which then proceeded into the halls inside with a brief welcome and thanks from the curator, Paola Trevisan, who presented a number of prizes to the exhibiting artists. Many of them were present among the crowd, which was of a considerable size and clearly showed its appreciation of the enormous and varied range of painting, photography and sculpture. An international exhibition of high quality art that has attracted many visitors from Ferrara, Emilia Romagna, northern Italy and beyond. The enticing draw of the imagination as a link between such a variety of different poetic individuals who have developed their skills in various countries and with such passion, has found a large audience.

From Nigeria to Switzerland, the United States to the Netherlands, Australia to Israel, the sheer range of nationalities of the exhibiting artists forms a whole that is more interesting than ever, with a preponderance of abstract, informal paintings (not excluding figurative touches in some of them), together with the mouldable quality of elegant, essential sculpture to reflect today’s more intimate shapes. Colours, landscapes of the unconscious, symbols: each of the artists exhibiting here has made a mental journey into the minds of some among the many that populate our world and who are shown here in art, through three or four works. Ferrara, always a city of grand artistic horizons, has staged an important event that managed on the occasion to sense what is happening in art at present: it is global, though not standardised, but, rather, multi-faceted, with a profusion of talent, imagination and skill.
